How to control your mobile phone data usage.

Data is money. Controlling the usage of data is important to use it within your budget. There are many applications available in the “Play Store” of Android mobile.

“My Data Manager” is a very simple and easy to use application that can be used to control your data usage through mobile, Wi-Fi and roaming. In this post we explain in a very easy way so that beginners can also understand.

The below are the screenshots for the complete installation and usage of “My Data Manager”.

Search for “My Data Manager” in the “Play Store” and you will see as per the below image.

Install it by pressing the “Install” button.

“Accept” for the access permission required and 5.04 MB Application will begin installing. Click open after installation.

First screen will be as below and will be disappeared within seconds and will be moved to the next screen.

Agree to the terms and conditions.

You will be get two options to continue once you agreed to the terms and conditions, “Set Mobile Plan” and “Manage Data Without Plan”. First we will explain “Manage Data Without Plan”. Press on the button to continue.

Press “continue” in the next screen.

Press “No thanks”.

The screen of “My Data Manager” will open as below. You can see the summary, History of usage, Map showing the places where the data accessed through mobile, Wi-Fi or roaming, Data used by each application, My Plans, My Alarms, More settings etc.

Summary screen will be displayed as below if you fix usage plan with “Set Mobile Plan”.

History screen will be displayed as below. We can see the statistics by day, week or month.

Data used by each application will be shown as below which will help us to know which application is consuming more data. By this we can delete the Applications which are not required.

Using “My Plans” option we can configure the plans “Mobile Plan” and “Roaming Plan”.

Mobile Plan can configure in three different ways, Individual, Shared and Join Shared.

There is also option to select the plan type “Recurring” and “Pre-Paid” with different periods.

“My Alarms” feature can be used to setting alert in the different stage of the data usage.

Custom alarm is also possible.

More settings can be changed from the below screen.

You can choose the alignment as per the “Calendar Month” or “Plan Cycle”.

There are additional options to set “hour”, “Zero-Rated Apps” and “Zero-Rated Time Slots”.
